Renovation adding new student lounge, Event Services office space to MSU鈥檚 Colvard Student Union

幺力视频鈥檚 Colvard Student Union is undergoing renovations that will add a new student lounge and expand office space for MSU Event Services.
The former Starbucks location in the first-floor Gaddis Hunt Commons Food Court will be transformed into a lounge area where students can study, meet with friends and relax between classes and events. In addition to lounge-style seating, the renovated space also will offer arcade-style video games, a nod to the game room housed in the Union before a 2006 renovation.
鈥淭his project is all about enhancing the student experience,鈥 said聽Raymond Brooks, Colvard Student Union and Event Services executive director.聽鈥淲e鈥檙e creating spaces that bring people together and support the vibrant energy of Bulldog life.鈥
This fall, Starbucks relocated to the renovated Perry Food Hall, which also welcomed State Fountain Bakery back to its original location.
The Union鈥檚 former bakery space will be converted into additional office space for Event Services, providing an expanded area for coordinating event planning with student organizations and campus departments.
Renovations are scheduled to be completed in time for the start of the fall semester.
