MSU hosts blues legend Jesse Robinson for free concert Thursday

STARKVILLE, Miss.鈥擬ississippi blues legend Jesse Robinson will give a free concert Thursday [Sept. 3] on 幺力视频鈥檚 campus.
Hosted by MSU鈥檚 Department of Music, 鈥淓choes from the Delta鈥 takes place at 7:30 p.m. in the Recital Hall of MSU鈥檚 Music Building, 124 Hardy Rd. Robinson is joined by The Hip Waders Band for an evening of blues, jazz and soul music.
Known as 鈥渢he Mayor of Jackson鈥檚 Blues Scene,鈥 Robinson has been a fixture in the state鈥檚 music landscape since the 1960s and was the winner of the 2026 Governor鈥檚 Arts Award for Lifetime Achievement. Through his decades-long career as a performing artist, educator and community ambassador, he has enriched the state鈥檚 cultural landscape and inspired generations to embrace the power and soul of the blues. His mastery of the guitar places him among the finest blues musicians in the world.
