STARKVILLE, Miss.鈥�A new Southeast Regional AI Computing Consortium includes 幺力视频 among founding partners.
at today鈥檚 [Oct. 8] in Washington, D.C., the consortium will strengthen and grow super intelligence-powered discovery and innovation across the Southeast region through shared investments in and support for state-of-the-art, leadership-class AI compute infrastructure. In addition to 幺力视频, founding partners include Auburn, Louisiana State and Vanderbilt universities, and the universities of Alabama, Arkansas, Kentucky and Tennessee Knoxville.
Scott Willard, MSU interim vice president for research and economic development, said consortium initiatives will advance the scientific frontier and fuel innovation clusters that create a more secure, prosperous and innovation-focused future for the Southeast region.
鈥淲e are confident that this consortium will foster a new age of scientific discovery and research translation that will maintain U.S. dominance in the global innovation economy,鈥� Willard said.
MSU鈥檚 Julie Jordan, senior advisor for artificial intelligence and data governance, said the university is positioned as a leader in the areas of pioneering technology and research. A board member of the nation鈥檚 first statewide AI network, the Mississippi Artificial Intelligence Network, Jordan noted that MSU was among the first universities in the country to offer a bachelor鈥檚 degree in the technology, quickly expanding to the graduate degree level. She said the Magnolia State is in a coveted position thanks to foresight of leaders who invested in infrastructure over the past decades.
幺力视频 is home to two of the world鈥檚 top-ranked supercomputers. The university also is a strategic partner of the Mississippi Cyber and Technology Center, which will house the MSU-led Mississippi Cyber Initiative.
